What is the difference between a goal, an objective and an action?
A goal is a top-level target, such as growing revenue to a set figure. Objectives are the measurable results that deliver it, and actions are the tasks that move an objective forward.
How does GPS show that an objective is behind?
Each objective has a target, a start date and a due date. GPS works out where it should be today and shows the gap between that and its current progress.
Can we track KPIs as well as OKRs?
Yes. GPS tracks KPIs, OKRs and quarterly Rocks, and works with balanced scorecards or your own method. See OKRs in GPS.
Who updates progress?
The owner, in a few seconds, from the web or the iPhone app. Every update is kept in the objective’s history.
Can progress come from our other systems?
Yes, where you connect them. The Xero integration maps KPIs to your accounts, and the API lets your own systems send new values to an objective. See integrations.
Can some goals stay private?
Yes. Goals and objectives can be kept private to the people who need them, and an action can be private to the person who created it.
