The biggest GPS release yet
Most strategies fail for one reason. Nobody owns them.
The plan gets written, then the week takes over. Numbers go stale. Meetings run off memory. Decisions never make it back to the plan.
GPS 1.22 changes that. It is the biggest release in GPS history, and it changes how you run your strategy every single day.
Here is what's new:
- The brand new Empiraa GPS MCP. Run your plan straight from Claude or ChatGPT. Just ask.
- A complete client management system. For firms: every client, conversation, timesheet and hour in one place.
- Meetings that run the plan. Check-ins before, decisions and actions during, nothing lost after.
- Objectives your way. Track progress the way your business actually works, with ANI spotting the gaps.
It is rolling out to every Empiraa GPS account now. Let's dig in.
1. Brand new: the Empiraa GPS MCP for Claude and ChatGPT
This is the big one. GPS now has its own MCP, short for Model Context Protocol. Put simply, it is a secure connection that lets Claude and ChatGPT work directly with your real GPS data.
So your whole plan now lives inside the chat you already open every day. No new app to learn. No extra tab. Just ask.
Set up in under a minute
Connect GPS to Claude or ChatGPT once, from Settings. There is no API key to manage and no developer to call. From then on, you ask about your business in plain language and GPS answers from your actual plan.
What you can ask
- "What's gone off track this week?"
- "Show me our scorecard."
- "Check in on our Revenue KPI."
- "Move Sarah so she reports to Daniel."
- "Keep our Revenue KPI synced from Xero."
For firms running a client book, it goes further:
- "How is Harbourline doing?"
- "Give me a one-page brief before my 2pm."
- "Which of my clients have gone quiet?"
- "Log two hours against this client for the strategy session."
- "Raise an action for their FD to send the management accounts."
It does the work, not just the reading
The GPS MCP writes as well as reads. It can log time, raise actions, update objectives, record check-ins, add meeting notes and change your org chart.
And you don't get walls of text back. GPS draws real views inside the chat: your plan scorecard, a KPI trend you can check in against, the action board, client health and meeting prep.
Built so leaders can trust it
Handing an assistant access to your plan is a fair thing to be careful about. So we built the controls in from the start.
- It acts as you. It can only reach what you can already reach. Private notes stay private.
- Every change is labelled. Anything an assistant changes shows as made via Claude or ChatGPT.
- Every change can be undone. Any person or admin can reverse it for seven days.
- Admins decide the level. Set assistants to Off, View only or Full for the whole organisation. The full picture is on the security page.
- Clients stay protected. A client account with AI switched off stays off limits.
Why this matters
Most software companies are bolting a chatbot onto the side of their product. We went the other way and put the product inside the assistant people already use all day.
The result is simple. Keeping the plan current stops being a separate job. It happens in the same place you write emails, prep meetings and think through problems. Every minute not spent clicking through screens or rekeying numbers is time back in your week.
2. A complete client management system for firms
If you're an accountant, consultant or adviser, this is the one you have been waiting for.
myPortal has been rebuilt from the ground up. It is now a full client management system: your clients, your conversations, your team's time and your margin, all in the same place as the strategy work you do for them.
No more running your practice out of spreadsheets and your inbox.
Talk to every client in one place
The new myPortal Inbox holds every conversation with every client in one thread. Your clients get one too.
- Message any client about anything. Pick a client, then the people in it or everyone, and start a conversation.
- It works like the chat tools you know. Threads, replies, reactions, GIFs, links and notifications.
- Clients can reach you too. They can write to your practice and bring their own colleagues in.
- It stays private. On the client's side, only the people named can read it.
Client conversations stop getting lost in email, and every message sits right next to the client's plan.
Time, timesheets and capacity, built in
The new Time tab tracks your practice's hours from start to finish.
- Fill your whole week on one screen. No more clicking into twenty clients one at a time.
- Submit and approve. Approvers are told when a timesheet comes in. Nobody has to chase.
- See your team's capacity. A twelve-week heat map shows what's committed against what's been done.
- Meeting time logs itself once a meeting is marked complete.
- A Time tab on every client shows the budget, what's been spent and who spent it.
- Export it for invoicing or payroll.
Know what every client earns you
Switch on cost tracking and GPS works out what each client costs you and what they earn you, using rates you set for each person. You see margin per client and money budgets alongside the hours.
Don't want your team seeing the numbers? Leave it off. It is off by default, and switching it off hides the money from every screen and export.
Ask your assistant to do the admin
This is where the MCP and client management come together. From Claude or ChatGPT you can say:
- "Show my week."
- "Log two hours against this client."
- "Submit my timesheet."
- "How is this client doing?"
- "Which clients haven't heard from us this month?"
Easier to use from day one
- Clients are called clients. No more switching between sub-account, agency and user management.
- Walkthroughs on every tab. Short guided tours point at the real buttons on your own screen, in your practice's colours.
- Branding that's yours. Reports carry your logo, and branding goes out to the clients in your book.
Why this matters
For a firm, GPS is no longer just where your clients' plans live. It is the system you run your whole practice on. You can see where the month went, which clients got no attention, who on your team is stretched, and what every client is really worth.
See how it works for professional services, or compare the plans and pricing.
3. Meetings that run the plan
A meeting can be well attended, well liked, and change nothing. In 1.22 we rebuilt the whole meeting, from the invite to the follow-up, so every meeting produces a record and not just a feeling.
Before: everyone arrives ready
- Check-ins send themselves. Each attendee gets a short check-in before the meeting, and GPS reminds anyone who hasn't answered.
- The pre-read is built for you. It shows where every number in the meeting stands before anyone walks in. Nobody spends the first fifteen minutes reading out figures.
- One agenda, no surprises. The agenda you build is the agenda that runs. If it changes after you send it, GPS tells people what changed.
During: the room decides what matters
- A check-in round. One person at a time, and any topic someone raises goes straight onto the agenda.
- Raise issues and vote. The team votes on what matters most, so time goes to the biggest problems, not the loudest ones.
- Decisions become records. Each decision is captured with an owner, not buried in a line of notes. Months later, you can still search what was decided and why.
- Numbers updated in the room. KPIs get updated in the meeting where they are discussed. Fewer "I'll send that through after" promises.
After: nothing falls through the cracks
- The transcript does the follow-up. Bring in your notetaker's recording and GPS reads the transcript, then suggests the actions. You approve the ones that are real.
- A check-out that confirms commitments. The meeting closes with how it went, what each person took on, and whether the group actually agreed.
- Unfinished items carry over. Whatever the meeting didn't get to moves to the next one automatically.
You can also schedule meetings and answer your own check-ins from Claude or ChatGPT. Ask it what check-ins you still owe, and answer them in the chat.
New: one-off client check-ins
Client check-ins used to repeat weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Now they can go out once.
That makes them useful for the things firms only ask once: an onboarding questionnaire, a year-end survey, a brief before a planning day, or a satisfaction check after a project. Because no next round is waiting, a one-off can stay open for as long as you need.
Why this matters
The check-out is what turns a good conversation into a tracked commitment. For a business, that means meetings that move the plan. For a firm, it means clients who arrive engaged, leave with clear actions, and can see progress from every session.
4. Objectives your way, and KPIs that update themselves
Every business measures success differently. Now GPS does too.
Measure it the way your business works
Objectives aren't just numbers any more. Choose from new objective types, or create your own measurement type in a couple of clicks. Need something simpler? Track it as On Track, Off Track or Complete.
ANI finds the gaps in your plan
ANI, the AI built into GPS, looks over your plan and spots what's missing. It then suggests objectives to fill those gaps, so your strategy covers what it needs to, without a consultant in the room.
KPIs that keep themselves up to date
No one should have to type last month's revenue in again.
A KPI can now pull its number straight from Xero, HubSpot, Google Sheets or Excel, and keep updating itself. Pick from a list of ready-made integrations, or just tell Claude or ChatGPT: "Keep our Revenue KPI synced from Xero." It sets it up for you.
- Your numbers are right when you open the plan, not after someone remembers to update them.
- "This month" always means this month, whenever you look.
- Xero KPIs stay current, with GPS checking every 30 minutes.
- GPS checks the setup first, and tells you what to fix instead of showing a wrong number.
- Only the right people can change it. Only admins can connect Xero or HubSpot, and only someone who can edit a KPI can change its sync.
Why this matters
You stop finding out something went wrong a month too late. The plan shows what's really happening, in real time, measured the way you run your business.

An org chart that shows who's stretched
The Accountability Chart is now a full org chart builder. Drag people to restructure, start from a template or a spreadsheet, and export it as a PDF.
Click any seat to see what that person does, what they're accountable for, and their KPIs, goals, objectives and actions. Then switch on the workload view to see who's overloaded and who has room. Most org charts tell you who reports to whom. This one tells you who's drowning.
A timeline you can dig into
The new Timeline shows your goals, objectives and actions on one screen, so you can see what's happening and who's on it. Click any bar for the full detail.
Reports that build themselves
Reporting to the board or the leadership team no longer means building a deck the night before. Pick a report and it builds itself: scorecard first, a chart for every goal, and a written summary of what's moved and why. Edit any line, then share it. Firms can now report across their whole client book too.
The Improvement Plan gets a vote
Your team can vote on improvement ideas, so the best ones rise to the top, not the loudest. Admins get a dashboard showing how ideas are moving.
Stop stitching tools together. Start running your plan.
Think about how many tools it took to run your strategy last year. A spreadsheet. A deck. A project tool. A meeting app. A reporting tool. And for firms, a timesheet system and an inbox full of client threads on top.
GPS 1.22 brings it all into one place, and puts that place inside the AI assistant you already use.
It is rolling out to every GPS account now. Already a customer? Head to Settings to connect GPS to Claude or ChatGPT and try it today.
